Copa Mundial de la FIFA Catar 2022™ Final Will Be Played Here!

The FIFA World Cup is just a few days away, with fans and teams preparing all over the world for the big day on November 20th. Qatar, known for its luxurious buildings created by its insurmountable wealth, will not shy away from creating the atmospheric value we all expect during this variation of the tournament.

If you plan on traveling to Qatar for this World Cup, you should learn the names of the following stadiums that will host all 64 games. We’ve ranked them below for your convenience.

# 8 Al Janoub Stadium

The Al Janoub Stadium is the first to be built entirely for this event. It recreates the shape of the “dhow,” the typical boat of the region. It has a capacity of 40 thousand people and a cooling system powered by solar energy.

#7 Education City Stadium

The Education City Stadium. It is known as “the desert diamond” which also has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. Its exterior changes color depending on how the sun hits it.

#6 Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

The stadium called Ahmad Bin Ali is the home of Al Rayyan (one of the top teams in the first division Qatari soccer league). This stadium stands out for its shiny façade.

#5 Al Thumama Stadium

5th place goes to Al Thumama Stadium. Its shape was inspired by the traditional knitted hat worn by men in the middle east, symbolizing dignity and independence.

#4 Khalifa International Stadium

Number 4, goes to the Khalifa International Stadium which was built in 1976. Previously known as the Qatar National Stadium, it was extensively remodeled for this World Cup.

#3 Al Bayt Stadium

The Al Bayt Stadium was inspired by the tents that have been used historically in Qatar and the gulf region to shield people/businesses from the sun. Al Bayt has a capacity of 60,000 spectators and will host the opening match on the 20th.

#2 Stadium 974

2nd place goes to Stadium 974, a fully collapsible complex located next to the Doha Bay that was built and integrated with 974 shipping containers. 974 is the international dialing code for Qatar, and the stadium’s prime location will provide all patrons with the opportunity to see a game and experience the city in its entirety in one day.

#1  Lusail Stadium

Finally, first place goes to the Lusail Stadium, the crown jewel. It is the largest venue of the tournament with a capacity of 80,000 spectators. It is surrounded by a reflecting water pond, and to access the venue, you will have to cross one of its 6 bridges. The Lusail stadium will host the tournament’s final match on December 18th.

These architectural gems are incredibly built with sustainable elements and modern design making them some of the best in the world.
