Samsung makes some of the best Android phones on the market right now, claiming multiple spots on our list of the best phones overall for 2023. And with four models in its latest flagship S23 lineup, there’s an option out there for every need and budget. But whether you’re after the new budget-friendly Galaxy S23 FE or the powerful S23 Ultra, there’s no reason to spend more than you have to. That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the best Galaxy S23 series deals below.

This story is part of Samsung Event, CNET’s collection of news, tips and advice around Samsung’s most popular products.

Samsung unveiled three models at its Unpacked event in February. Its refreshed lineup includes the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra. All three retain the same screen sizes as the 2022 models at 6.1, 6.6 and 6.8 inches, respectively, with a refined external design and some modest upgrades to the camera hardware, battery sizes and internal storage of the larger two models. A special version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor powers the new phones and is optimized for the new Galaxy S23 lineup, which we found in our tests to have much faster performance than the S22.

The new Galaxy S23 FE hit shelves just last month, and is the most affordable model in the S23 lineup. It has a midsize 6.4-inch display and an improved battery life, but comes equipped with the previous-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

Plus, Samsung is also offering four colors exclusive to its own online store lime, graphite, sky blue and red. The new Galaxy S23 FE is only available in graphite, mint and purple.

Best Galaxy S23 deals

Samsung isn’t currently offering any cold, hard discounts but there are savings to be had if you know where you’re looking. Right now Samsung will knock up to $300 off the Galaxy S23 FE, $600 off the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus, or $800 off the S23 Ultra with an eligible trade-in. Newer Apple and Samsung devices will net you the most, but you’ll get enhanced credit for phones from Google, Motorola and other brands as well.

There are some additional offers available if you activate your new phone through a carrier. AT&T customers can save up to $1,000 with a trade-in and an installment plan, while Verizon customers can save up to $800 with a trade-in on a premium unlimited plan. T-Mobile customers will save up to $350 with an eligible trade-in, or up to $800 when adding a new line.

Samsung is also offering some other bonuses, including $190 off a Galaxy Watch 6 and $180 off a pair of Galaxy Buds 2 Pro when bundled with a Galaxy S23, S23 Plus or S23 Ultra. If you’re purchasing the Galaxy S23 FE, you can save $50 on a pair of Galaxy Buds FE and $114 on the Galaxy Watch 6. You’ll also get some free services, including two free months of Adobe Lightroom, four months of YouTube Premium, four months of Sirius XM and six months of Microsoft 365 Basic (if you’re a new subscriber).

Best Buy is one of the few retailers offering straightforward discounts on unlocked Galaxy S23 models right now. You can save $100 on the S23 Plus and $200 on the S23 Ultra. The budget-friendly S23 FE isn’t discounted, but you will get a free $100 gift card with the purchase. There aren’t any discounts for the base model S23, but you can save up to $650 with an eligible trade-in.

Plus, both AT&T and Verizon customers can save up to $1,000 on select models with an eligible trade-in and activation on a qualifying service plan.

Verizon is offering both new and existing customers a chance to save on Galaxy S23 phones. Those adding a new line of service can get the Galaxy S23 FE for free, or save up to $800 on the basic S23, or up to $1,000 on the S23 Plus and Ultra with a trade-in. Plus, existing Verizon customers who qualify for an upgrade can still save up to $800 on the S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra with an eligible trade-in, which still scores you the basic Galaxy S23 for free.

Verizon is also offering some bonuses to new and existing customers. You can get a free Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE, or save $350 on a Galaxy Watch 6 with the purchase, though you’ll need a service plan for these new devices as well. There is also a buy one, get one for $800 off offer available for the S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra. And new customers who bring their existing number over from another carrier will get a free $200 Verizon gift card.

AT&T is offering a few different ways to save on Galaxy S23 phones at the moment. You can snag the affordable S23 FE for just $10 per month — which saves you $240 over 36 months — when you purchase the phone on an installment plan, with no trade-in required. If you do have an old phone to trade-in, you can get the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus for free, or save up to $1,000 on the S23 Ultra, with an installment plan and activation on an eligible unlimited plan. The discount will be applied via monthly bill credits over 36 months.

T-Mobile is offering new and existing customers quite a few ways to save on the S23 series right now. Those adding a new line of service can save up to $800 when signing up for a Go5G Next or Go5G Plus plan. Or you can save $600 when adding a new line on a different qualifying service plan, which scores you the Galaxy S23 FE for free.

If you already have a Go5G Next or Plus plan (or switch to one), you can also save up to $800 with an eligible trade-in, which scores you the Galaxy S23 or S23 FE for free. Those on a regular Go5G, Magenta or Magenta Max plan can save up to $350 with a trade-in, or you can save up to $200 with a trade-in if you’re on another qualifying service plan.

Both new and existing customers can save up to $650 at Xfinity when trading in an eligible device. The latest iPhones will net you the biggest discount, but Xfinity also accepts models from Samsung and Google, as well as tons of smaller brands. Like most other carrier trade-in offers, the discount will be applied in the form of monthly bill credits. However, you can also choose to receive your money back in the form of a check, though it may reduce your discount a bit.

Buy a Galaxy S23 from Google and you’ll get $200 back via 24 months worth of bill credits when you take out a new Google Fi plan.

Google also has its own trade-in program where you can save up to $590 off in exchange for your old phone, with the latest iPhones netting you the biggest discount. It should also be noted that the new Galaxy S23 FE is not yet available at Google Fi.
