TOP STORY: Bastoni, Barella, Thuram to all exit as Inter eye rebuild
Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolò Barella and Marcus Thuram are among the players who could leave Serie A leaders Internazionale in the summer, according to Tuttosport.
With an 11-point buffer on second-placed AC Milan with just eight games to go, Inter will almost certainly be crowned Italian champions this season. However, the Nerazzurri will know that winning a Scudetto does not necessarily mean that they will retain their best players, as they lost Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku three years ago after doing just that.
Inter Milan’s performances this term have gained plenty of attention, with Bastoni, Barella and Thuram all shining, and head coach Simone Inzaghi being looked at by Premier League strugglers Manchester United.
Despite that, it is unlikely that Lautaro Martínez will leave, as he is the captain and happy at the San Siro, which means the club would reportedly only accept an offer of over €120 million for him. It is suggested, however, that a sum closer to €80m would trigger deals for Bastoni, Barella or Thuram.
This comes with Inter needing funds to make signings, with Genoa attacker Albert Gudmundsson, Torino centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno and a back-up goalkeeper among the desired incomings.
Pep Guardiola likes Bastoni but Manchester City have already invested in Josko Gvardiol, while Real Madrid could also look at the 24-year-old centre-back.
Barella has received plenty of interest from Premier League clubs and Chelsea could move for the 27-year-old midfielder despite him being close to a contract renewal.
While Inter are keen not to end the partnership between Thuram and Martinez, Manchester United and Arsenal are looking at the former, while Paris Saint-Germain could also move for the 26-year-old forward as they prepare to lose Kylian Mbappé.
