Transfer Talk: Goretzka, Sané, Mazraoui top Juve’s shortlist

We still have some time before the summer transfer window reopens in Europe, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip is swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Bayern trio top Juventus’ shortlist

Juventus are scouting a trio of Bayern Munich stars ahead of the summer transfer window, with Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sané and Noussair Mazraoui all identified as potential signings, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Juve boss Maximilliano Allegri likes Goretzka and feels that the 29-year-old midfielder could be a pillar in front of his defence who can govern the game and add physicality. It is currently unknown whether Bayern will be willing to enter negotiations for him, as current head coach Thomas Tuchel will leave at the end of the season and the new manager will influence the reigning Bundesliga champions’ decision.

Sané, meanwhile, reportedly wants to move on from the Allianz Arena, which has resulted in the Bianconeri keeping an eye on the 28-year-old and feeling that a transfer could be possible as long as it is affordable. The outlet has emphasized that Federico Chiesa‘s future at Juve will not be a contributing factor in whether or not they move for Sane.

The third Roten star Juventus are watching is Morocco international right-back Mazraoui, while a former player, Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, is also on the Italian giants’ shortlist, as Bayern have the option to re-sign the striker due to a clause when he left Bavaria in the summer of 2022.

Additionally, it’s reported that Juve are also considering moves for Lazio forward Felipe Anderson — who is expected to be available as a free agent — and Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.

PAPER GOSSIP

– Arsenal are set to end their long-held interest in Ivan Toney to focus on signing Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP, claims Football Insider. The 27-year-old Brentford striker is no longer seen as the right fit for the Gunners, who instead feel that Gyokeres is what they need and are aware that a release clause means they can bring in the 25-year-old for £85 million.

– Monza want to sign Daniel Maldini permanently from AC Milan during the summer transfer window, according to Calciomercato. The 22-year-old has recorded three goals and an assist in 13 Serie A appearances since joining on loan in January, which has already convinced Monza that they should make the move with Milan wanting between €4m and €5m.

Holstein Kiel sports director Carsten Wehlmann has confirmed to Sky Sports Deutschland that club captain and midfielder Philipp Sander will join Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer. This came before their 2-0 win against SV Elversberg on Saturday, in which the 26-year-old scored.

Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland has not ruled out a return to the Premier League, according to Football Insider. The 31-year-old is happy at Rangers and delighted with his decision to move to Scotland, but feels that a Premier League move could help his chances of earning a call up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Calciomercato have suggested that Juventus are looking at Freiburg right-back Kiliann Sildillia and Atletico Madrid left-back Reinildo Mandava. This comes with the Serie A giants reportedly being willing to listen to summer offers for Filip Kostic, Samuel Iling-Junior and Timothy Weah.
