Transfer Talk: Liverpool, Arsenal edge Man Utd in Malen race

We still have some time before the summer transfer window reopens in Europe, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip is swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Liverpool and Arsenal look to Malen

Liverpool and Arsenal are ahead of Manchester United in the race for Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen, according to Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg.

Both clubs are reported to be more “concrete” options for the 25-year-old, who BVB are open to moving on this summer.

Malen, a former Ajax Amsterdam and Arsenal youth player, is said to be looking to leave the Bundesliga side at the end of the season having been linked with an exit from the club in the last transfer window, and there is belief that an offer worth €50 million would be enough to land him.

Malen is currently enjoying one of his best spells for the Schwarzgelben. The Netherlands international registered an assist in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt and has scored seven goals in his last 10 appearances.

PAPER GOSSIP

– Real Madrid could move defender Ferland Mendy on this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo. It is reported that the LaLiga side are prioritising a move for Bayern Munich speedster Alphonso Davies, and they would be willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old Mendy, who has made 28 appearances across all competitions this season.

– Tottenham Hotspur are considering a permanent move for on-loan RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, writes Football Insider. Spurs are believed to value the 28-year-old’s experience, and they are able to sign him for a fee in the region of £15m via a clause in his loan deal. Werner has found some positive form of late, having scored two goals in his last three Premier League matches.

– Bayern Munich will listen to offers for midfielder Joshua Kimmich this summer, reports Sky Sports Deutschland. The 29-year-old has been linked with Barcelona and Manchester City of late but, despite previously dismissing the idea of offloading him, the latest indicates that the Bundesliga side are now ready to part ways with him if their valuation is met. Kimmich remains contracted at the club until the summer of 2025.

– There are no plans from Sevilla to make the stay of on-loan Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri permanent this summer, according to Estadio Deportivo. The 21-year-old has struggled to garner regular game-time for the LaLiga side, having played just 90 minutes across four appearances since arriving in January, and it looks as though he is set to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

– Both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are in the race for Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, reports Football Insider. The two Premier League sides are reported to be among “several” teams following the centre-back, along with sides from Serie A, and AS Monaco, who are said to have made an official approach but couldn’t agree terms. The 26-year-old is set to become a free agent this summer.
